About Christopher
Christopher was born and raised on the prairies of Western Canada, on Treaty 7 lands now known as Calgary. Growing up in the church kick-started a love of performance, and under the tutelage of incredible music teachers like Kristen Scott, Shirley Fus, and their incredible Dad, Roger Bladen, Christopher was known to have learned to sing before they learned to speak. Realizing at an early age that their voice and storytelling abilities were able to stir and move folks, Christopher spent their high school years furthering their musical studies, and developing and falling in love with the craft of acting. After attending Vancouver Film School in their early twenties, Christopher hit a long and debilitating chain of mental and physical challenges that put creativity on the back burner for nearly a decade. During this time, though working a “regular” job wasn’t possible, Christopher parlayed their life-long love of animals into a bustling dog walking, pet sitting, and home cleaning side gig. Eventually, after a long road with many false stars and disappointments, through the help of the correct medications, therapy, and the incredible support of their community and family, both chosen and blood, and after a move to Vancouver Island with their loving husband Scott, Christopher is stepping back into their power and reclaiming their love of creating: practicing and developing their skills in music, acting, writing, photography, and hopes to continue exploring in the mediums of makeup, drag, burlesque, and more!
